Spring Summer Lehenga Trends

Welcome to a fresh new season of Freshness, cheerful colours and lively designs...it is time to talk about the spring summer collection that are hot and happening this year.
Yes of course it is time for some great pastel shades.
Designers are keeping the embellishments and fabric ornamentation minimal.
But the wedding lehengas do have ornamentation to add a glitter and glam to the occasion.
However the embroideries and intricate works of fabric embellishments are done keeping in mind the pastel shades. So we are seeing a lot of playing with the same family of colours ...consciously avoiding the stark contrasts.

Here are some examples that will act as good and handy reference which will help you pick the right designs and styles trending this season.

SUMMER COLORS FOR BRIDAL LEHENGAS

  • The colors for summer speaks of pretty pastels, light ivories, blush, monochromes and earthy tones but mixed with a splash of cheery bright colors
  • Designer Anushree Reddy’s spring summer’15 collection combined light powder blue, pink blush and nudes with an electric mix of tangerine yellow, pistachios and bright pink
  • The collection by Samant Chahan was in similar myriad of soft hues sprinkled with tangy orange. The hints of bright orange through the skirt’s hemline were especially fun and interesting. The same trend was seen even in Anushree’s designs.
SUMMER FABRICS FOR BRIDAL WEAR
  • Move away from the typical heavy lehengas, this season is all about light and fluffy fabrics. Think tulle, silk organza, net, mul, dupion silk or cotton. Even with heavy embellishments, these breathable fabrics are suitable enough for summer wear
  • Many designers like Rabani & Rakha and Ridhi Mehra used these summer friendly fabrics extensively in their S/S 2015 bridal collection
SILHOUETTE AND STYLE

The most interesting aspect about the latest trend in summer lehenga is that it allows one to experiment with the look. Gone are the days when the choli would have to be stitched specifically to match a lehenga.
Mix shirts, crop tops in different styles and prints with your traditional lehenga skirt for a trendy and unique style statement. It is not necessary to get a designer lehenga to be in trend, just play around with your own ethnic lehengas and add your individual style. Be your own kind of beautiful!
FRINGE IN BRIDAL LEHENGA

  • Fringes were a huge rage at the Paris and NYC runway show this year. And ace designer Manish Malhotra decided to combine beaded fringes with heavily embellished skirts. The end result had everyone stunned! Dramatic, festive, bohemian and so chic, Manish Malhotra’s fringe lehengas are a definite statement piece
